We also grow seasonal heirloom fruits & vegetables!
We don't use pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers & we don't grow GMO's. We focus on heirloom varieties for saving seed, maintaining genetic diversity & of course superior flavor! We also firmly believe in only using ORGANIC practices and employ ecologically friendly farm practices like using hand tools as much as possible for reduced carbon footprint, mulching to conserve water and cover cropping to build soil.
Here's some of what we grow :

Pasture Raised Broiler Chickens
Our birds are raised on pasture. We keep the birds in a large solar powered electrically fenced area during the day so that they may roam and forage, scratch and bask in the sun as they please. The fencing protects them from predators during the day, at night they go into movable chicken tractors for additional protection. The fencing and the chicken tractors are moved each day, to allow the chickens access to fresh pasture and to keep the birds as clean as possible. They are given certified organic feed grains, which we purchase from our neighbor Abram Zeigler at Zeigler Farm. He is right around the corner from our farm so we are able to purchase feed that is freshly ground, locally grown and supports a fellow organic farmer. We also supplement their feed with some spinach, chard and other organically grown greens from our gardens. Please see these photos of a group of our birds from last year.
We raise a limited number of birds each year, so that our pasture has time to rest and is not being overburdened. The birds are raised to 7 or 8 weeks and will weigh on average 4-6 pounds (processed weight). We will be selling the birds by pre-order only.
